LAMBERT & DEKKER YOU'RE FREE TO CUT (VIDEO)

The atmospheric connection between classical (and at times jazzy) pianist Lambert and Rue Royale member Brookln Dekker is undeniable. The backstory of the album (which sees Lambert & Dekker create and record an entire album via email and text, without even getting the chance to see each other in real life before the album was picked up by BMG) is almost as remarkable as the video that accompanies this track. ‘You’re Free To Cut’ is complimented by its grainy, artistic video which (with its red-tinted filter) adds to the melancholy atmosphere of this unique track. Of the track, the duo say “You’re Free To Cut is a simple heartstring song that simply says (in humility), “I know I’m rough around the edges and need refining. You can help if you need to”. It’s a delicate and self deprecative idea that Andreas Hornoff decided not to deal with directly but rather to deal with the feel. We think it’s a perfect match”-Dan Peeke
